Our parents at the Esther Salas Academy were able to attend a parent breakfast and a very informative event in which our Union City Detectives explained the important of being alert when it comes to bullying with their children and the severe consequences of this problem in our society.

In Mr. Zamudio’s class at Esther Salas Academy, students engaged in a highly interactive lesson exploring the various organelles and their functions in both animal and plant cells. Through small group instruction, Mr. Zamudio created an environment that promoted collaboration amongst students, allowing them to work together to identify organelles, discuss their roles, and compare differences between plant and animal cells.

Mr. Navas and his Ninth-Grade Bilingual students at Esther Salas Academy engaged in an outstanding lesson centered on exploring careers of the future and analyzing projected job growth over the coming decades. Through this highly relevant and forward-thinking activity, students examined emerging professions, evaluated labor market trends, and discussed the skills required to succeed in an evolving global economy. Throughout the lesson, students demonstrated strong engagement and ownership of their learning.

Our students at the Esther Salas Academy had the incredible opportunity to participate in a highly engaging and insightful lesson led by Ms. Earlene Cruz, professor at New York University and founder of Kitchen Connection. Kitchen Connection is an innovative platform that empowers both home cooks and professional chefs to host and participate in live, interactive virtual cooking experiences—all while supporting Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, an initiative of the United Nations.
